Scenes sidebar

Think of this as your film strip: every scene stays organized, versioned, and one click away.

Navigation

Dashboard

Return to the movie dashboard whenever you need the wider view of your project. Your editor work remains attached to the movie and its scene versions.

Playback

Play all

Play the current scene and continue through the remaining scenes in the sidebar order. It is useful for checking whether individual scene decisions still work as a movie. Starting manual playback or selecting a scene takes back control.

Organization

Edit a scene title

Double-click a scene title to rename it without leaving the editor. Press Enter or click away to save; Escape cancels. Good scene names make feedback, versions, and collaboration dramatically easier to follow.

Safety net

Browse versions

Use the previous, current, and next version links beneath a scene to compare earlier decisions. The current link shows the version you are viewing; unavailable neighbors stay hidden.

Version control

Restore as new version

When you are looking at an older version, restore it as a new latest version. SceneFlow keeps the old history untouched, so experimenting never means losing the path you took.

Structure

Move scene up or down

Reorder scenes without rebuilding them. The up control is disabled for the first scene, the down control for the last, and the new order becomes the movie's playback order.

Add scene

Use Add scene in the Scenes sidebar to add more screenplay material to the movie. Upload a plain-text or Fountain file, or paste your screenplay. The new scene opens after creation finishes.

Delete a scene

Open the scene’s actions menu and choose Delete. The confirmation permanently removes the scene and all its saved versions. Cancel if you need to keep its history; restoring an action or scene version cannot recover a deleted scene.
